Daylight Savings Time Ends

Remember, daylight savings time will end next Saturday November 4th.  If you have any clocks that are set manually, be sure to set them back 1 hour before you retire Saturday evening.  Plus, you will get an extra hour of sleep!

Called Business Meeting

There will be a called business meeting on Sunday, October 29th after the evening service.  We will select messengers for the state convention.  The meeting will be held in the fellowship Hall.

Women’s Fall Dinner- EVENT POSTPONED TBD

Make your plans now to attend the Boots and Old Lace Dinner on Monday, November 6th at 6 PM.  Tickets cost $10 each,  Invite your friends to experience how to prepare their hearts for the Christmas season.  and influence their families as well.  Get to know your neighbors by inviting them.

Operation Christmas Child

Dedication Sunday for Operation Christmas Child, will be Sunday November 5th, during our morning services.  The OCC pre-made shoeboxes are available by Pastor Jamie’s office.  Please take what you need and begin to fill the shoeboxes with goodies for kids around the world.  The brochures on how to pack a shoebox have been ordered and and will be available soon.  Please take note of the change in shipping costs and the change in items allowed to be packed.  Also, on…

Veterans and Active/Reserve Military Personnel Service

Sunday, November 12, in both morning worship services we will honor military Veterans and active/reserve personnel from all branches of service.  To make this service special, we invite Veterans and those in active/reserve service to submit a photograph with their name, rank, dates of service and branch of military for inclusion in a slide show.  there are two ways to submit photos:  email the photo with the requested information to or put the photo (with name on the back)…


The choir has begun work on the Christmas cantata, “Christmas! We Remember, Rejoice, Worship”  but it is not too late to join in the preparation!  Adults ansd youth who would like to sing in the Christmas cantata are encouraged to attend rehearsal at 6:00 p.m. every Wednesday in the choir room .  Christmas music will be rehearsed first each week so that youth singers can join the youth group for worship after rehearsal.


Alabama WMU is sponsoring Christmas Backpacks for the Mississippi River Ministry again this year.  These children living along the Mississippi River are from generation after generation living in deep poverty in this region.  Our church is providing 25 backpacks to be filled by Sunday School classes or individuals.  Alabama WMU’s goal is 6,500 backpacks.  Instructions are included inside the backpacks.  The backpacks may be picked up in the foyer on the bench in the hallway.  Please sign your name as…
